Fiza turns 36!
Story
Hi everyone!
As some of you would know, this Sunday is going to be my second birthday in lockdown. While I have always loved birthdays (mine & others!), I am also at peace with this new reality of life in a pandemic. Having lived so many of my days in lockdown since March last year, I realize just how lucky I am to have a comfortable home, a husband that I love, a career that is meaningful and cats who bring me untold joys.
So for my 36th birthday this year, I want to help others build their own meaningful lives here in Australia, no matter how they got here. The little hardship I’ve endured this past year is nothing compared to what refugees and asylum seekers go through, so I hope you’ll consider donating to Asylum Seeker Resource Centre Inc. as a way of celebrating my birthday with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal.
ASRC Footscray (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre)
The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is both a place and a movement.
As an independent not for profit organisation, we are owned and run by our community. Our programs empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well-being. As a movement, we mobilise and unite communities to create lasting social and policy change for people seeking asylum in Australia.
We assist over 7,000 people seeking asylum each year from our centres in Footscray and Dandenong, Victoria.
